| Alabama requires children to be 4, 5, or 6 years old, on or before September 1, to enter the program for the 4-year-olds, kindergarten, or first grade, respectively. |
| To register at either of the schools on post the following documentation will be required: |
| • |
Sponsor will update Registration Form (DoDEA Form 600). DoDEA Form 600 must be signed by the active duty sponsor. If the sponsor is deployed, it may be signed by his or her spouse with a Power of Attorney (a copy of the POA will need to be submitted with enrollment documents). |

Families who are still on the waiting list for housing will need to verify that the registrar has a copy of their original 180-day housing letter. |

The immunization requirement for the four-year old pre-kindergarten program is that the child be given five DPT shots (or four DPT shots if the fourth shot was received after the child’s fourth birthday). Thrift Shop at Fort Rucker |
|
| The Thrift Shop has admirably served Fort Rucker and the surrounding community for over 42 years. The Thrift Shop raises funds for worthy causes through the sale of consigned and donated merchandise such as used clothing, toys, jewelry, books, house wares, furniture, and electronics. Over the years, many organizations have benefited from its financial support. Some of these organizations include the D.A.R.E. program, Holiday Food baskets, the community Library, the A.F.T.B. program, and the Scouting programs. The Thrift Shop also awards scholarships to deserving students and donates merchandise to the local DAV, the Wiregrass Emergency Pregnancy Service, Relay for Life and many other organizations. |
| The Thrift Shop is completely dependent on the support and generosity of volunteers and donors. Help is always welcome and much needed in all aspects of the shop. |
|
| Volunteers’ price donations, tag them, and place them on the sales floor. Other volunteers work in the Consignment area receiving consignments. Donations arrive daily, so there is always work to be done sorting, tagging and moving donations to the floor. If volunteering is not possible, consider donating items or stopping by and shopping at the Thrift Shop. There are many wonderful treasures to be found. Make a difference in the community. |
| Donate, volunteer, and shop at your Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop is located on Gladiator Street, Bldg 3904, across from the Post Office. We are open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Consignments hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information on volunteering, donating merchandise or consigning items please call 255-9595. |
