| If you arrive in Panama City by air travel, |

| be advised there is no city bus service to Tyndall, nor is military taxi service available. However, commercial taxis, rental vehicles and limousines serve the Panama City airport. |

| From Bay County International Airport: Take Lisenby Avenue from the airport to Airport Road. Turn left on Airport Road and continue to Harrison Avenue. Turn right on Harrison Avenue and go through the first light (U.S. 231). Turn left at 15th Street |

| (U.S. Highway 98) and follow it approximately 12 miles. Once you cross the Dupont Bridge, you are at Tyndall AFB. Proceed to the first light (Sabre Drive) and stop in the visitor’s center for a pass to enter the installation. |

| When you arrive, your first stop should be the Military Personnel Flight’s Customer Service Section to begin your in-processing. The MPF is located on the second floor of Building 662. If you arrive after hours, on a weekend or on a holiday, you should notify |

| your sponsor of your arrival and visit the MPF the following duty day. The MPF Customer Service Section is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and they can be reached at (850) 283-2242. |

| Panama City is a tourist haven due to its year-round warmth and abundant sunshine. Tyndall has a moderately-warm climate throughout the year, with an average summer temperature of 85 degrees, and the average winter temperature of 60 degrees. |
| Hurricane season lasts from June to |

| October, and the 325th Fighter Wing takes hurricane preparedness very seriously. Military members are required to have a hurricane evacuation plan in place as well as an emergency response kit on hand. Sand Dollar Inn |

| Offering a 24-hour arrival point for those arriving after duty hours, the Sand Dollar Inn can fill temporary lodging needs for 40 arriving families. It also boasts 219 beds for single officers and more than 500 beds for single enlisted members. |
| Before obtaining temporary lodging in the local Panama City community, contact the Sand Dollar Inn. Reservations for those on orders can be made at any time, but requests for space available rooms can be made no sooner than 24 hours before arrival. |

| Pass and Registration is located in the visitor’s center on U.S. Highway 98 in the Bay View Housing area, directly across from the Sabre Gate. All personnel who drive a motor vehicle on Tyndall AFB must have a current state registration, proof of insurance and a license to operate a vehicle on Tyndall AFB. To register a vehicle in Florida, contact the Department of Motor Vehicles office in the city of Parker or Panama City. A U.S. Postal Service Center is conveniently located on Tyndall AFB and processes general delivery mail for new arrivals and personnel on temporary duty, and manages mail lock boxes for Tyndall’s permanent party dormitory residents. The PSC is open Monday through Saturday with mail pick-up available 24 hours a day for those with lock boxes.
Newly assigned and TDY personnel should forward a copy of their orders with their Report No Later than Date to the PSC prior to departing their duty station. By doing so, they can forward their mail to 730 Suwannee Ave., PSC Box 5000 (General Delivery), Tyndall AFB, FL 32403-5000. Postal officials recommend including the RNLTD in the forwarding address. | Under the Housing Privatization Program, Tyndall AFB has partnered with GMH Military Housing for the purpose of improving the military family housing community and privatizing family housing. Tyndall and GMH offer several housing areas to include newly constructed three and four bedroom homes in the extension at Red Fish Point. Advanced applications are accepted with official orders and can be faxed to GMH at (850) 286-1701. Currently there is no waiting list for housing. | In addition to the GMH Community Housing Office, Tyndall has a Military Family Housing office that can assist you with referral to off-base housing. The surrounding area offers a wide variety of housing options. However, four bedroom homes are limited and many landlords to not allow pets. Many of the available houses in the local area are listed on-line in the new Automated Referral Housing Network at www.ahrn.com. | Bachelor personnel in grades E-1 E-4 who are assigned to Tyndall are required to reside in unaccompanied housing, report to dormitory manager’s office Building 1149 with-in two days of arrival and at normal duty hours. Tyndall has eight dormitories providing 448 bed spaces. All permanent party rooms are single occupancy and pipeline student rooms are double occupancy. Residents are assigned private rooms that are approximately 130 square feet and may share a bathroom with one other resident. Rooms are fully furnished to include full or twin size bed and refrigerator. For those who enjoy cooking, two dormitories have been renovated to the new 1+1 standard with a shared kitchen and one of our dormitories has a fully equipped community kitchen. | Tyndall has 448 bed spaces for single Airmen E-1 through E-4. Single Airmen, E-1 through E-4 (with less than three years of service), must report to the dormitory manager’s office behind Building 1149 during normal duty hours. On weekends and holidays, report to the Sand Dollar Inn for temporary lodging until the next duty day, when Airmen should report to the dormitory manager’s office. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate, multi-cultural, anti-biased and based on the understanding that each child is unique with his or her own set of needs and agendas. Family Child Care (FCC) |

Air Force family child care provides an alternative to child development center care for families with children from two weeks to 12 years of age that need regular care, evening care, weekend care, care for children with special needs, infants, and school-age children, and care during swing and midnight shifts. Child care is provided in the homes of licensed on- or off-base providers. To support the military mission, providers offer a variety of care packages including hourly, part-day, and full-time hours. FCC promotes children’s safety, health, and well-being through ongoing training and monitoring of providers. Operating an FCC home is a privilege granted by the 325th Mission Support Group commander to persons who have satisfactorily completed training requirements, home inspections, and agency screenings.

In partnership with Airman and Family Readiness Center, FCC also provides childcare for families who are changing duty stations. The Airman and Family Readiness Center relocation staff issues certificates for active-duty military members allowing up to 20 hours of free childcare within 30 days of permanent change of station at both the member’s losing and gaining base.

| Tyndall Youth Programs provide opportunities for youth to develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, enjoyment, friendship and recognition. | School Age Programs - Before and after care (kindergarten-12 years) offers child care for those out-of-school times. Supervised activities, both self-directed and adult-directed are offered in an environment of free choice, which fosters responsibility. Coaches, who are all volunteers, are trained through the National Association for Youth Sports. Lighted baseball field, soccer field and basketball court support the program. The center also has a regulation-sized gym. A FitFactor website tracks points to move through the five levels. | Social Recreational Programs - Pre-teen and teen programs offer activities in the areas of education and career development, health and life skills, and the arts. Youth can hang out with friends, do homework, play board and computer games, work on a project or join a club. The Torch Club (pre-teens) and the Keystone Club (teens) are clubs designed to teach leadership, citizenship and personal responsibility. |
| Tyndall Youth Programs are affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4-H. Dances, themed parties, various contests, holiday events, lock-ins are all planned to foster youths’ sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence. The Youth Center is a great place to be. | Public: Bay County’s school district was formed in 1913 and has always enjoyed a reputation for educational excellence. Students usually rank above state and national norms on SAT and ACT tests. There are several elementary, middle and high schools in the area. Bay County’s Web page on the Panama City Web site at www.panamacity.org outlines the different facilities. There is also an adult center, a vocational-technical center and an excellent program for exceptional children. School buses provide transportation to and from school for those students who live more than two miles from their assigned schools. |

| Rehabilitative: The Panama City Marine Institute has a rehabilitative program for troubled minors, offering remedial education, vocational and employment skills training and counseling. A motivating environment is provided in which juvenile offenders can redirect and reshape their lives. The rehabilitative endeavor teaches good citizenship, seamanship, navigation and some marine biology. Youths are employed in labor-intensive environmental projects such as building artificial reefs and planting marine vegetation. |

Spiritual growth is the chapel’s mission whether you are active duty, family member, retiree, or visitor. |
| Christian worship is upbeat, relevant, and vibrant. Services take place in two chapels on base. Chapel 1 faces Flag Park, near the Illinois Gate and Chapel 2 is located on Suwannee Avenue across from the Sand Dollar Inn. Sunday School and Religious Education classes meet in Spiritual Fitness, Building 1476, next to Chapel 2. A Jewish study room is also available in the Spiritual Fitness Center. |

| The ministries of the chaplain service team extend well beyond the chapel walls to a vibrant Flight Line Spiritual Maintenance Center located in Building 532. This facility is open to any who wish a break from the bustle of the day. This is a place for flight line Airmen to relax and unwind. Two chaplains have offices in this facility. The Islamic worship and prayer room is also located in the Spiritual Maintenance Center. |
