Okaloosa-Walton College

Okaloosa-Walton College is a public institution that serves more than 15,000 students annually and is accredited to award bachelor and associate degrees. The college offers everything from academic degrees to Microsoft and Cisco Systems IT Academies, occupational certificates, adult basic education, literacy instruction, personal enrichment courses and customized training for business and industry.
OWC’s unique Bachelor’s degree program in Project and Acquisitions Management is geared to the local defense industry and business community with specialization in five areas: acquisitions, project management, quality improvement, training and development/human resources, or a customized track of study.
OWC also offers a variety of Health Technology programs including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in partnership with the University of West Florida, an
associate degree Registered Nursing, Dental Assisting, Surgical Technology and a diploma program in Medical Coding/Billing. The college’s more than 40 associate degree programs include computer-aided drafting, graphic design, office administration, early childhood education, criminal justice, computer network administration and more.

OWC offers extensive evening and weekend classes, distance learning via Internet, and a specialized program for CCAF graduates to earn a second college degree with as few as 15 additional credit hours.

University of West Florida

UWF is located in Pensacola, Fla. with a branch campus in Fort Walton Beach (20 minutes from Eglin) and a center located in the Education Office in Building 251. UWF has an active and unique partnership with Okaloosa-Walton College. This partnership will allow students who are pursuing a one-year degree to take their first two years at OWC and a seamless transition into the degree program of their choice at UWF.
UWF offers a close-knit family with helpful advisors who offer assistance with scheduling and class offerings. At the FWB Campus and the Eglin Center, where they believe in customer service, students will find staff ready to help answer questions and solve any admission and registration problems. Courses are offered evenings and weekends to accommodate the military and working adults.
UWF is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has national accreditation in both the College of Professional Studies and the College of Business. UWF offers bachelor and master’s programs, as well as a Specialist and Doctoral Degree in Education. Bachelor’s and master’s degrees are offered in business, arts and social science, education, computer science, psychology, social work, and criminal justice, communication arts and humanities, interdisciplinary as well as several certificate programs in business and Microsoft certification.
In October 2002, active-duty service members began receiving 100% tuition assistance. They and their dependents also qualify for in-state fees. Troy University

Troy’s Florida and Western Region is a part of the worldwide Troy University system supporting military off-duty education programs. Since 1975 Troy University has offered associate, bachelor, and masters degree programs at Eglin. At the undergraduate level Troy offers Associate of Science degrees in business administration and general education, Bachelor of Science degrees in management, accounting, computer science, psychology, criminal justice, political science and social science, and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in resources management with various areas of specializations. All of the undergraduate programs and courses are also available through distance learning. At the graduate level Troy offers Master of Science degrees in management, human resources management, and counseling and psychology, and a Master of Public Administration degree with several areas of concentration available.
Troy maintains a state-of-the-art computer lab at Eglin to support student needs and an extensive web based library system for educational pursuit. Troy University is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
All coursework required to complete any of these degrees is offered locally with classes in the evening or on weekends. Troy has an academic year of five 9-week semesters starting in August, October, January, March, and May. Academic advisors are available on either a walk-in or appointment basis. Credit is accepted from both traditional and non-traditional sources, such as CLEP, DANTES, CCAF, and ACE Guide evaluations.
In addition, Troy is a member of the Service members Opportunity College. Financial counseling concerning VA, tuition assistance, PELL Grant, and federally insured student loans is available. No out-of-state fees are charged to any student. Registration is not restricted to active duty military, but is also open to federal civil service, reservists, military dependents, military retirees, and community civilians.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

The ERAU center at Eglin is one of over 120 Extended Campus locations across the United States and Europe. These centers provide continuous aviation-related educational opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students.
At the undergraduate level, Embry-Riddle offers an Associate and Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics. These degree programs are specifically designed to enhance the knowledge and marketability of students who are currently working in an aviation-related field. Eligible students are granted technical credit based upon their aviation-related training. The University also offers a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technical Operations. At the graduate level, Embry-Riddle offers a
Master of Aeronautical Science degree program. Students may choose from five different areas of specialization for the Master of Aeronautical Science. These areas of specialization are Aeronautics, Operations, Management, Safety, and Education.
Dual specializations are also available.
Embry-Riddle offers courses on the semester system. Each semester is nine weeks in length. There are five terms offered per year. Advisors are available on a daily basis at the Eglin Education Center, Building 251, Room 113. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale

SUIC offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management. This program is designed to provide course work and experience in the areas of management and supervision for individuals who have training in management and/or health oriented fields from colleges and universities, technical institutes, community colleges, proprietary institutions, or military mechanical schools.
SUIC offers courses on the semester system. Each semester is 16 weeks in length and there are 3 semesters offered per year. The HCM degree program consists of three parts: a 48 semester-hour
major with courses taught in a weekend format that spans four semesters and can be completed in 16 months, a 31 semester-hour approved career electives requirement that can be satisfied through previously completed military schools, community college degree programs, or technical or industry training programs, or health care-related work experience, a 41 semester-hour University Core Curriculum requirement (general education) that can be satisfied by transfer credit from other accredited institutions including community colleges, CLEP, DANTES, and proficiency testing. University of Florida Research and Education Engineering Facility

Located on Eglin property just outside the West Gate, University of Florida Research and Education Engineering Facility (UF/REEF) offers to the Greater Eglin community both master’s and doctoral degrees in engineering specialties. UF/REEF not only confers the advantages of a University of Florida academic degree, which enjoys international recognition as being granted from one of the world’s finest engineering programs, but provides a state of the art facility to conduct technical research critical to the advancement of national defense and security capabilities.
